The Workforce Development Innovation Award honors an organization that demonstrates exceptional commitment to developing a skilled manufacturing workforce by preparing them for in-demand jobs and supporting manufacturers by building a pipeline of qualified workers.

This new award was established to recognize leaders in workforce development and to provide outstanding benchmarks for organizations striving to build effective workforce strategies. It honors organizations for their exceptional commitment to upskilling employees, enhancing talent, and preparing both new and incumbent workers for successful careers in the manufacturing industry.

Nomination Eligibility & Requirements

Each application will be judged on an organization’s demonstration of the following criteria:

• Processes and Programs
• Curriculum
• Quality and Continuous Improvement
• Training Infrastructure
• Supporting documentation may be submitted to further demonstrate your training program's strength.

Who Should Apply:

• Community-Based Organizations
• Economic Development Agencies
• Workforce Development Agencies
• Manufacturing Extension Partnerships (MEPs)

Award Winners Will Receive:

• An official award to display
• Participation in a Tooling U-SME webinar or podcast
• Invitation to and recognition at the SME Awards Gala
• Recognition and Publicity Program
